what is a photogapher

Photographers create permanent visual images for an exceptional range of creative, technical and documentary purposes. A professional photographer usually works to a brief set by the client or employer. A large proportion of professional photographers are self-employed. The remainder work for a variety of employers, including creative businesses, publishers and photographic agencies, or in the education or public sector.

Description

Photography is the science, art and practice of creating durable images by recording light taking pictures. Photography is employed in many fields of science, manufacturing and business, as well as its more direct uses for art, film and video production, recreational purposes, hobby, and mass communication.

Education

Although post secondary education is not required for portrait photographers, many take classes since employers usually seek applicants with a “good eye” and creativity, as well as a good technical understanding of photography. Photojournalists and industrial and scientific photographers often need a bachelor’s degree.

Income

How much they make depend on what kind of photographer a person is. A full time pro gets anywhere from $25 hr to over $100 hours. The success depends on what you specialize in.
