March Madness by Cooper Mills
Last month was March madness. This month is the Final Four and Championship. It’s in Austin, Texas. Last year the Final Four was in Indianapolis, Indiana. The teams in it last year were Wisconsin, Kentucky, Duke, and Michigan State. The championship was between Wisconsin and Duke. Duke won!
The NCAA Tournament also known as March Madness dates back all the way to 1939. The Oregon Ducks won. The most famous Indiana teams are Indiana University, Purdue University, and Butler University. Indiana has been in 6. They won in 1940, 1953, 1976, 1981, and 1987. They lost once in 2002. Purdue has been in one in 1969 but lost. Butler has been in two in 2010 and 2011, but lost both. Who will win this year’s? We will find out April 4th.
Guess the Gator G.R.E.A.T.S. Trait by Madi Kammer
So gators this is Madi and this is Guess the Trait. So last month’s trait was effort. Did you guess it right? No one answered the question last month. So no one got a prize. Try to write back. So here goes the story.
Most kids in the world get cold in the winter because their families can’t afford coats. There was a fantastic school that was awesome at raising money. They had 5 coat drives and they ended up getting 7,259 coats and $500 for the counselor to buy even more coats. Those students have really great-----------. That is why that school has won School of the Year.
So write back and put your answer in the Gator Gazette mailbox.
Earth Day by Jaden Ashman

It was first celebrated in 1970 and is now coordinated globally by the Earth Day Network. It is celebrated on March 21. It is celebrated by more than 192 countries. So this year why don’t you try to help the Earth.
Talking to the Teachers by Christian Castillo
Hello, Gators! It’s me Christian, and I’m here to bring you another edition of the original article TALKING TO THE TEACHERS!!
This week, give a big applause to... MRS. REYNOLDS!!!! She is a fourth grade teacher who is very funny. According to Mrs. Reynolds, some of the fun things she has done in March includes a March Madness book report, some animal research [AWESOME], and some reading about a “hippo-murderer” [???]. Some of the things she and her students will be doing in April are poetry, a reader’s theater, and SPRING BREAK!!!!!!!
When asked to give her favorite quote, Mrs. Reynolds chose this one [which should be on the morning message] by Maya Angelou, a famous writer and poet:
“Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better.”
That quote is true—very true. Thank you Gators, and watch out Mr. Froning. I’m coming your way next with a pen and a notebook.
Until next time, I’ll leave you all with these words of wisdom from our daily announcements, “South Creek is a school of hope, where we are guided by knowledge and inspired by love. Have a wonderful listening and learning DAY!!!”
Book Review by Cami Bland
Hey Gators Its Cami. This month I decided to do another book review. In this book a girl named Laura is moving around a lot. She has one older sister and 3 younger siblings. Her older sister is Mary, and her younger siblings are Carrie, Grace and Charles. The author who wrote this book based it off of her own life. The book Farmer Boy was based off of her husband. This month’s book is…….................................................Little house on the prairie.
