Italy is in Europe and Rome is the capital of Italy. One of my favorite foods pizza was made in Italy. The most popular sport Italy is basketball. In Italy this is how you say three words- (hello-ciao), (good-bye-ciao) and (per favore- please).

Government of Italy and the School System

The politics of Italy is a constitutional republic with a multi-party system. The multi-party system is made up of three powers: executive power, legislative power and judiciary power. The president is the head of state, though his position is separate from all branches.

The current President is Sergio Mattarella.


Regardless of nationality, education in Italy is from 6 to 16 years of age, and is divided into stages: kindergarten, primary school, lower secondary school, upper secondary school. School usually start around the second week of September and finish around the second week of June.

Currency

The currency in Italy is the Euro. 1 euro is the same as $1.08 US currency.

1. The major religion in Italy is Roman Catholicism. This is not surprising, as Vatican City, located in the heart of Rome, is the hub of Roman Catholicism and where the Pope resides.


2. The most popular sport in Italy is soccer, which is known as football throughout Europe. Italy's national soccer team has won four world cups, which is second only to Brazil's five.


3. The weather in Italy is dry, warm summers and moderate, wet winters with the warmest month above 22°C over average.
