Principal's Update

Non-Traditional Instruction Week of 5/18/2020

Dear Families,

We hope this week's newsletter finds everyone safe and healthy at home. We have almost made it. Next Wednesday, May 27 is the last day of school for FCPS students. Please make sure your students are working this week to finish up the last of their NTI assignments.

If you read any newsletter this year, this is the one. We have included information about end of the year procedures to clean out lockers, pick up personal items, and drop of Crawford items (library books, textbooks, instruments, etc...). There is also information about the virtual promotion we've been working on to recognize our 8th grade students.

Take a look at Mr Jones' weekly video for more information.

8th Grade Virtual Promotion

Tuesday, May 26th, 10am

This is an online event.

We are currently working on a virtual 8th grade promotion. We know it's not the same as the in person ceremony, but we want to recognize all our 8th graders' hard work during their three years of middle school.

If we were in school, the promotion ceremony would have taken place on Tuesday, May 26, so we have decided to make the virtual promotion available on that day. It will be shared to all 8th grade students and families by email and will be posted on the Crawford website at 10:00 a.m.

FCPS Last Day of School: May 27

The last day of school for students will be May 27. Students should continue working on their NTI lessons and checking in to each of their teacher's Google Classrooms. Teachers will be available from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm, Monday - Friday to provide assistance. Students can always email their teacher and teachers will be available during the week through Zoom or Google Meet if students need face to face support.

FCPS Meal Service

Message from FCPS regarding meals this week:

While schools are closed, FCPS will distribute food twice a week between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

For as long as schools remain closed because of COVID-19, youths can pick up meals on Mondays and Wednesdays during the lunchtime window. Please help limit social interaction and maintain social distancing to protect students, families, and employees. Dialing 211 from any phone will connect to this service.
