Senior Gathering Organizer
The Care and Connect Committee is in search of someone (or someones) who would be interested in organizing a few special trips throughout the year.
+Aimed at Seniors over 55 years of age
+You'd select event, gather information, make any needed reservation, and share with the Care & Connect Committee.
+A 2-3 events a year
+Group can use FELC van for events.
You are welcome to attend committee meetings, but do not need to. This falls under the umbrella of Care & Connect, so you may be asked to attend a few meetings a year to help us plan, set goals, and support one another.

Connect Groups Meet in February
Please reach out to your groups members for ride sharing and details on when your group will meet. If you do not hear from a Leader, please contact Pastor Heather for more details.
Each group can decide on their own to postpone and reschedule based on our weather this week. Please use your best judgement on driving and attending events in inclement weather.

Book Discussion
Book Discussion Group
Everyone is invited to join the FELC Book Club. Our next two dates and reading material are listed below. This discussion series was inspired by the adult study class Pastor Ryan led which was based on the video series; Dialogues on Race. The Book Club will be reading a number of books aimed at furthering conversations on race, religion, and listening to one another's story.
Thursday, February 27th, 6pm at Westlake Panera
We will discuss The New Times Magazine edition titled, 1619 Project. Copies of this magazine can be picked up from Pr. Ryan. A copy is also available in google doc format. Please email Pr. Heather if you'd like to receive the magazine digitally. heather.arnold@felcpeoria.org
"The 1619 Project is an ongoing project developed by The New York Times Magazine in 2019 with the goal of re-examining the legacy of slavery in the United States and timed for the 400th anniversary of the arrival of the first Africans in Virginia." The magazine is made up a number of articles, photos, and historical timelines.
