BACK to SCHOOL 2022!
Gettys Middle School - Easley, SC
Let's "Make Gettys Great" in 2022-23!
Welcome to Gettys Middle School!
We hope all of our families have had an enjoyable summer. We look forward to having all of our students back on August 2. Our school will open at 7:45 am daily and the student's first class begins at 8:30 am. The first two weeks will be a time for all students and parents to learn our procedures. Please allow more time for transportation during the first two weeks while students, families and buses learn their new routines.
Gettys Middle is a 1:1 device school and textbooks are digital. Families should be sure to pay their technology fee of $25 for device insurance by July 28. You must pay online at MySchoolBucks by July 28. Parents should complete two items prior to their child receiving a device: the Registration Gateway as well as paying the required $25 device insurance fee. 7th grade students must also show TDAP immunization prior to receiving a student schedule. Several large chain drugstores offer walk-ins for this immunization as well as other medical facilities.

7th Grade Tdap Requirement
Don’t forget that your 7th grader must have the Tdap shot before they register for classes. This is a booster vaccination required by law for 7th grade students and is a protection against the whooping cough. This required documentation to be eligible to start school should be dropped off in our main office for our nurses prior to Meet the Teacher July 28. If you bring on Meet the Teacher day, you must report to the cafeteria to turn in your form and receive your child's schedule.
Please complete the district's transportation form so we can plan for your bus. If you need additional bus information you should contact the Easley Bus Office at 397-1175.
Rising 6th Graders Additional Information
This year the lunch and breakfast program is no longer free for all students. Families applying for free and reduced lunch application must apply each year. The application is only provided online. We encourage you to review and complete if needed.

Traffic Loop Procedures
We need all families cooperation with our Traffic Loop Procedures to ensure safety for all of our students and communicate traffic flow patterns around S. Pendleton Street. All vehicles should enter the Gettys car loop in the morning and afternoon procedures. We have supervision of students and safety when using our procedures and all students can be picked up or dropped off in the order that you arrive. Families should not park at local businesses or side roads or residential areas for any of these procedures. No parking on South First Street, Wyatt Avenue or West Second Avenue. Walkers must live within walking radius of school and are required to stay on sidewalks and crosswalks and avoid any private property or that could result in trespassing charges.
Our dismissal this year is 3:15 pm and car rider students sit in their grade level area for pick-up and should look for their vehicle. In the morning drop-off students will report to the cafeteria if they are having breakfast or wait in the gym holding area until our homerooms open up with teachers around 8:10 am.
Dress Code: Moderation and Modesty Should Govern Student Dress
