Alabama Student Council Conference Cancelled
Scholarship applications will continue to be accepted from member schools only. The deadline is April 15, 2020. Please mail applications to ASCA, PO Box 428, Montgomery, AL 36101-0428.
ASCA is also still accepting pledge commitments for their annual service project, the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Please use the link below to make a pledge on behalf of your school, student council, or SGA.

David Sikes Named AASSP Vice President-Elect
Mr. David Sikes, principal of Pike Road High School in the Pike Road City School System has been selected to serve as Vice President-Elect for the Alabama Association of Secondary School Principals (AASSP). Sikes will also represent AASSP on the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools (CLAS) Board of Directors.
Sikes is a native of Montgomery. He earned an undergraduate degree from Samford University, two master’s degrees from Jacksonville State University, and an educational specialist degree from Auburn University Montgomery. His educational career spans 34 years with the past 18 years spent as a principal at the middle and high school levels.
“We are excited to welcome David Sikes to AASSP and CLAS Board of Directors,” said CLAS and AASSP Executive Director Vic Wilson, Ed.D. “His leadership qualities are evident as he was selected to serve as vice president-elect of the AASSP affiliate. Servant leadership is vital to the success of our association and we sincerely appreciate David’s willingness to serve Alabama’s premier school leadership organization as a representative of AASSP on this prestigious board.”

Adam Clemons - Alabama's High School Principal of the Year
Dr. Adam Clemons, principal of Piedmont High School in the Piedmont City School System, has been named 2020 Alabama Principal of the Year by the Alabama Association of Secondary School Principals (AASSP). Clemons will represent the state of Alabama in a national judging of school leaders in the National Principal of the Year Program sponsored by the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP). Tony Sanders - Middle School Principal of the Year
Anthony Sanders, principal of Greensboro Middle School in the Hale County School System, has been named 2020 Alabama Middle School Principal of the Year by the Alabama Association of Secondary School Principals (AASSP). Read More.

Jennifer West Named AASSP Assistant Principal of the Year
Jennifer West, assistant principal at Buckhorn High School in the Madison County School System has been named the Alabama Assistant Principal of the Year by the Alabama Association of Secondary School Principals (AASSP). As the Alabama state winner, West is eligible to be selected as the 2020 National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP) National Assistant Principal of the Year.
