- After consulting with the Callaway County Health Department and adhering to the most recent social distancing guidelines, we are pleased that we are able to offer each graduate six tickets, the same number traditionally guaranteed at Champ Auditorium. These tickets were given to graduates at graduation practice yesterday.
Commencement Ceremony: June 19, 2020
- Graduates need to park at Fulton Middle School by 5:30 pm. Graduates will be assigned to buses to be shuttled to Fulton High School, this will allow for more family parking at FHS. The buses will leave Fulton Middle School promptly at 5:45 pm.
- The buses will arrive in the FHS circle drive at 6:00 pm to drop off the graduates. The graduates will be seated six feet apart in the FHS commons area, in alphabetical order. Only graduates and staff will be permitted in the building.
- At 7 pm, the graduates will be escorted from the building, through the teacher's parking lot, out to the football field. They will be seated six feet apart on the field.
- When graduates stand to accept their diploma, they will be spaced 6 feet apart.
- When the graduate's name is announced, the graduate will walk across the stage and pause at the diploma table. Mrs. Boland will place the graduate's diploma on that table for the graduate to take.
- The graduate will turn to face the audience with the diploma in hand and face the photographer from Wagner for their picture.
- Then, the graduate will walk off the stage and return to his/her seat.
- The hat toss will take place on the field, at the conclusion of the ceremony.
- We ask that everyone remain seated while the graduates are escorted out of the athletic complex. Once they exit the complex, the ceremony will be concluded and families are encouraged to exit the facility.
PARKING:
- Graduates will park at Fulton Middle School and will be bused to FHS. They will not be shuttled back to FMS after graduation.
- Family parking will be available in the following lots: FHS student parking lot, FHS staff parking lot, North side of Industrial Road, FECC parking lot, Bush Elementary parking lot, YMCA parking lot, and the Moser's empty lot across from Walgreen's
- FPS school buses will start shuttling attendees from parking lots once graduates are unloaded at FHS. The last shuttle pick-up will be 6:45 pm (shuttles will stop during the ceremony).
- Shuttles will load attendees after the ceremony concludes and transport them back to the lots.
- The Fulton Police Department will have officers driving by these parking lots during this time.
Graduation Expectations:
- Wear a cap and gown. The top of the graduation cap may be decorated appropriately. Only cords and medals issued by the school may be worn with the robes.
- Graduates need to remain 6 feet apart at all times. Masks are optional.
- Graduates need to have the ringer on their phones turned off and will not be able to bring anything else with them to the high school (no purses, no drinks or food). They will not be going back into the commons after the ceremony.
- All guests will need a ticket to enter the athletic complex.
- We ask that family clusters remain 6 feet apart.
- There will be no sitting or standing outside of the athletic complex. The limited tickets were issued to reduce the size of the crowd and create the safest environment for all.
Rain-Out Plan
If weather prevents the ceremony on Friday, June 19, 2020, the back-up date will be Saturday, June 20, 2020 at 10:00 am. The same plan will be followed except for times:
- Seniors would need to be at FMS by 8:30 am, buses would transport them to FHS at 8:45 am, and they would arrive at FHS by 9:00 am.
- Once graduates are unloaded, buses will shuttle attendees from the parking lots. The last pick-up would be at 9:45 am.
