Mid-October Application Check

What should I be doing now?

Do you have Early Action deadlines of November 1st?
  • If yes, and that college requires a letter of rec, you should have requested it on Friday 10/9. Didn't request it? That is okay - do it now.
  • If you need your transcripts sent, please request ASAP, but at least a week before your deadline.
  • Questions and Concerns about your SAT score? Check out our new SAT Score Sends Guidance.
  • Common App questions? See our FAQ's.

Are you applying to College of DuPage?

Selectivity

Bear in mind your deadlines, and manage your applications accorindly. If you're able to, we suggest applying to a range of colleges: 1-2 "safety" colleges (with at least one being a financial safety), 2-3 "match" colleges, and 1-2 "reach" colleges.

Haven't started?

That is okay!!! What route are you planning on taking after high school?
  • 4-year or 2-year College or University. Create a list of colleges. Manage your list of colleges. Start applying to your colleges (go to their website to start)! Many colleges have rolling deadlines or regular decision deadlines in the winer and spring, so you are not too late. However, they typically give scholarship money to those who apply early and you still have plenty of time to meet Early Action deadlines.
  • Trade School/Apprenticeship. Use that website to look for apprenticeship program info.
  • Military
  • Certificate programs - see below!
