The Eager Eagle

Weekly Memo for STAFF

Week of February 18-21: Have a great week!

Streelman: Out of Office

I am out Wednesday morning for a meeting.

What's Happening in the Eagle's Nest?

District-Wide Infrastructure Trial

We have been asked to participate in the district infrastructure trial on February 20 at 9:00 am. This involves 2nd-5th grade with students that are 1:1 with Chromebook devices. K and 1st, you are able to use computers as normal at this time.

We are not going on the infrastructure website since we are not online testing. Instead, we need to have all students on their Chromebooks (required in 2nd-5th grades) from 9:00-9:15 am using the Internet. This is a test to ensure secondary schools have necessary bandwidth to complete testing while elementary is also using the Internet.

Teachers, you may have your students on anything web-based, such as AR, Reflex Math or iReady. Thank you!

BINGO for Books

BINGO for Books is on February 20 from 5:30-7:00 pm in the cafetorium. There are extra stickers for agendas hanging on my mailbox if you need them! Please advertise this event!

Reading Squad T-Shirts

If you would like to order a t-shirt (I sent design last week) and haven't emailed me, please do so asap! I will place the order towards the end of the week. Cost is $13; I will need the money once they arrive!

Team Leader

Our next meeting will be February 24 at 3:30 pm.

AR Field Trip

Students going on the AR field trip will miss most of the school day on February 25. I will email you the list of students in your class affected and also ensure Joy knows to mark them as excused for a field trip. Please send any work they miss home with them. Ms. Thomas and Mrs. Marsh had the most AR points earned in their classes first semester. They will be joining as chaperones on this trip!

PLCs

You will meet on Wednesday, February 26 in Heather's room.

MTSS Meetings

We are working to see what is missing from files on students you would like to set up evaluation planning for~we will be in touch if we need anything via email.

Our next round of MTSS meetings will be March 2-4. We have secured a sub for these and the schedule is below. Please let me know if I made an error somewhere. I am working on this with two little boys running around the hotel room while we await our trip to the airport, so mistakes are likely!

Reading Endorsement

Comp 4 will be offered in the fall through FDLRS. Comp 1, 2, 3 and 5 are offered through the Schultz Center.

Some secondary teachers recently went and took the reading certification test and passed. If you are interested in doing this, in lieu of the endorsement, HR will need a copy of your unofficial pass report from the testing center. If you need more information, please let me know and I will get in contact with Andi at the district office regarding this route.

Read Across America!

We will celebrate Read Across America the week of March 2-6. Below is a list of our sprit days. I will share Dr. Seuss read alouds on the announcements. We will also have a few treats in store for staff that week!

iReady Diagnostic #3

3rd-5th grades have the iReady diagnostic window open March 24-April 3.

K-2nd grades have the iReady diagnostic window open April 20-April 30.

Marking Tardies

If a parent drop off student arrives to your class after 8:10 (within a few minutes) and does not have a pass, they are present. We close the gate at 8:10 am. As long as they are on campus by this time, they are present. Students that arrive after must enter through the office and receive a pass. This will help you distinguish which to mark present and which to mark tardy.

Growth Mindset Assembly

NED Shows will present a school-wide assembly on growth mindset on March 30 at 1:30 pm. More information will be shared!

End of Year Activities

As we approach the end of the 3rd quarter, be thinking about your end of the year activities. Since FSA testing is later this year, things will fill up quickly on our school calendar. Please email me anything you want added to the calendar!

Math Unit Scores

Please update your math unit scores once you have them!

Student of the Week

Please use the Google Sheet to update your students of the week. The sheet has been updated through the end of the school year. Because of FSA testing, we will NOT have student of the week the week of May 4-8.

Time Off Requests

Don't forget to include Joy, Meghan, and Jen in your time off requests!

Counseling Services

Dear teachers,

We will be increasing the number of students that receive independent or small group counseling services. This is extremely important for our students. Please allow students to leave your classroom for these therapies, even if it is during instructional/academic time. Thank you for your understanding.

Don't Forget!

Please respond to meeting calendar invites and also put your time off in Skyward!

Thank you for all you do! Have a great week!
