COVID Low Risk Notification
Naperville 203 have been closely monitoring the health and safety of our students and staff. We are sending weekly emails to our school community when there is a positive case to inform you that students have had a potential exposure to the virus. This is considered a low-risk exposure. We have been notified that an individual in the Scott community has a confirmed/probably case of COVID-19. Please understand that we cannot disclose the name of the person with the confirmed/probable case.
In light of the low-risk exposure to a confirmed/probable COVID-19 case, we ask that you monitor your student closely for symptoms. If your student develops symptoms:
- Consult with your health care provider for the next steps (testing and isolation)
- Self-isolate and practice social distancing by avoiding public places
- Notify your school’s health office
- Keep other siblings/household members home from school/activities, the health office can provide guidance.
As a reminder, always keep your student at home if they are ill for any reason. The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are a fever, new onset of cough, shortness of breath, chills, fatigue, muscle aches, new onset of a moderate/severe headache, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell, vomiting and/or diarrhea. Symptoms usually develop between 2 to 14 days after the last exposure.
If you have any questions, please contact Amy Bailey, school nurse at 630-579-7570 or ALBailey@naperville203.org. Thank you for your understanding and ongoing cooperation with our COVID-19 prevention policies and procedures as we work together to keep our students, staff, and families safe and healthy.

2022 Annual Online Update
Naperville 203 conducts an Annual Update for the coming school year for students planning to enter kindergarten through fifth grade. This is an online process to save you time, ensure accurate information is entered into our student information system, and allow for quick updates each year based on the information already in the system.
- To access the Online Annual Update forms, you will need your Infinite Campus Parent username and password. This is the same information that you would have used to schedule a Parent/Teacher Conference earlier in the school year. If you do not have a Campus Parent account, contact Parent Support via email parentsupport@naperville203.org
- While this communication is specifically about elementary students, you may complete the Annual Update for all of your students at the same time even if they are in junior high or high school. Please do so no later than May 27, 2022.
- Elementary Student Fees are due by May 20, 2022. The Fee Statement and directions for paying fees will be emailed to each elementary family on May 3. This statement provides a total amount for general fees, technology fees, and any optional fees for each elementary student. We will work with any family that needs financial assistance. Parents will receive school fee information for junior high and high school students at a later time. Please contact the elementary school secretary if you do not receive a fee statement for your elementary student on May 3, 2022.
- Note that changes in address must be updated through a scheduled appointment with our Centralized Enrollment Office. Appointments can be made by calling 630-416-2834.
- The Free and Reduced Fee Waiver Application will be included in our summer mailing to all families. The form will also be accessible on the district website on July 1, 2022.
- If you know now that your child(ren) will not be returning in August due to a move or other circumstance, please let the school know as soon as possible by emailing your student’s teacher.
Completing the online Annual Update by May 27, 2022 is necessary so we may have all plans in place for your child to have a successful 2022-2023 school year. You will continue to receive email reminders between now and May 27, 2022 until it is completed. Your student will not be assigned to a classroom for 2022-2023 until the Annual Update is completed. As in the past, there will be a mailing in late summer. It will contain specific information pertaining to the start of the school year such as the date that classroom assignments will be posted online, the date of Parent Orientation, and information from our Home & School.

Summer Music Opportunities
Young Naperville Singers are welcoming new members. 1st - 3rd graders do NOT need to audition. They can contact our office or fill out the audition request through the website and we will send them registration materials. Informal auditions, designed to “put kids at ease,” will be held in person for 4th- 12th graders. We have multiple days to choose from. They can register by going to www.ynschoirs.org/audition.
Elementary students may sign up for Wildcat Theater Academy at Neuqua Valley from August 1st – 5th. Program information and registration at: www.wildcattheateracademy.com
Did you know Naperville 203 hosts a summer music program June 6th-29th? Most music programs will be hosted at Kennedy Junior High School and Naperville Central. This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to spend a little time each day collaborating with music students from all across our district in the month of June. We have a very strong summer staff made up of in-district employees and certified teachers from other well-respected music programs joining us to bring their best to our students.
Options for summer music include:
· Cadet (entering 5th grade), Intermediate (entering 6th grade), and Advanced (entering 7th grade and beyond) Bands and Orchestras
· Transitional Choir (entering 6th) and Advanced Choir (entering 7th and beyond)
· Jazz Ensemble (entering 7th grade and beyond)
· Introduction to Music Production (one-week course hosted at NCHS)
· Ukulele I (building a ukulele and learning the basics of playing it)
· Ukulele II (building upon prior ukulele knowledge to learn the basics of song construction)
· Riverwalk Percussion Camp (one-week course hosted at NCHS by Brandon Estes)
· High School String Orchestra Camp (entering 9th grade-12th grade)
Follow this link for a summer brochure listing class locations and times https://www.naperville203.org/Page/9787
Please encourage and support your child’s musical development. We would love to have them with us. For camps longer than a week, if you need to miss a little bit due to pre-planned vacations, just reach out to the summer director (Michael McManis) and let him know mmcmanis@naperville.org
A message from Scott Reading Specials
Hello Scott Community!
Summer Slide is a term that refers to the loss of reading and other academic skills that occurs over the summer when school is not is session. The best way to combat the slide? Keep learning all summer long! Here is a link to some great ideas of how to do just that during the long, sunny days of summer. Happy Learning and have a great summer!!
