Air throughout quality monitors measure concentrations of lead the country. EPA, state, tribal and local agencies use those data to ensure that lead is at levels that protect public health and the environment.

we have things that are able to prevent lead pollution. even though people might think that we dont do anything about lead pollution, we actually have monitors that can see if the lead is too high

EPA has tracked air quality trends for lead using data from this network of monitors. Nationally, average lead concentrations decreased dramatically after EPA's regulations reduced the lead content in on-road motor vehicle gasoline.

this is what we do to try and to prevent air pollution like lead. we even have reduced the amount of lead we use on a gasoline vehicle

Affects health

Cardiovascular(Heart and Blood Vessels), Developmental (effects during periods when organs are developing) , Gastrointestinal (Digestive), Hematological (Blood Forming), Musculature (Muscles and Skeleton), Neurological (Nervous System), Ocular (Eyes), Renal (Urinary System or Kidneys), Reproductive (Producing Children)

Affects many parts of your body, heart, blood, organs, eyes, muscles...

this shows how much lead pollution affects your body and that this is a big deal

Ecosystems near point sources of lead demonstrate a wide range of adverse effects including losses in biodiversity, changes in community composition, decreased growth and reproductive rates in plants and animals, and neurological effects in vertebrates

it might seem like this isn't a big deal but it is. Many things are being harmed because of this lead pollution.

Lead also is released into the environment from mining, smelting, and industrial activities

affects the environment by mining smelting and industrial activities

this shows that it is in a lot of peoples jobs and that this could be a huge problem.

In 2012-2015 that value is 5 micro grams per deciliter (µg/dL) to identify children with blood lead levels that are much higher than most children’s levels.

Many children now are increasing the blood lead levels this is much higher than most others.

this shows that their blood lead is increasing due to the environments lead found in gasoline and even paint.

In 1970, there were 20 million children in the U.S. under five years old, of whom 12 million lived in urban areas and 5 million lived in center cities where lead exposure is the highest.

this was a big issue back then and we have gotten better about it but still many people are still being harmed with lead pollution

recycle and reuse

to control lead as a national ambient air quality standard under Section 109 of the Clean Air Act. As a result of Court action on this suit, EPA began developing a lead standard.

people are now realizing what is going on around them and what they should be doing. this shows what a smart advocate should be doing

Negative affect

when cooking it could cause air pollution. many people would think that air pollution is worse out side but then when having a detector then they realize how much pollution is created in there house.

even in our houses there could be pollution and in some countries there are worse conditions.

in 2012 and 2013, Dr. Nieuwenhuijsen and other researchers outfitted 54 schoolchildren in Barcelona with air pollution monitors. These monitors measured black carbon, which consists of small sooty particles released by diesel engines and other sources. The children experienced the highest levels of black carbon when they were commuting to and from school, according to the study, which was published this year in the journal Environmental Science and Technology. The lowest levels of pollution were at their homes.

many kids are experiencing very high levels of air pollution at school. this should not be happening. they are experiencing high levels like black carbon, and at home are the lowest.

kids shouldn't be experiencing high levels of lead/ air pollution. high levels could cause a stroke, or lead to a serious illness.
