Cross Country Highlights: Hewitt & Warrior's 2-mile
Cross Country races into September at the Hewitt Middle School 2-mile and the Warrior's High School 2-mile.

The High School boys and girls raced a field of 20 teams from Birmingham and surrounding areas at Veterans Park in Alabaster. The boys finished 5th overall with a score of 160 points (19-33-34-36-38). Our top 7 were William Nichols, Jacob Taylor, David Manashirov, Brayden White, Lane Hopper, Rees Sheffield, and Graham Waldrop. The girls finished 10th overall with a score of 242 points (30-43-44-54-71). Our top 7 were Bella Caretti, Giselle Gibbs, Lauren Cherry, Audrey Floyd, Chloe Nacilla, and Abby Ashwander.
The Middle School boys and girls raced a field of 23 teams also from the Birmingham and surrounding areas at Hewitt Trussville's Stadium. The boys finished 6th overall. The top 7 were Connor Robinson, Cadan Fales, Dawson Helton, Spencer Freeman, Henry Crocker, Benjamin Stidham, and Baron Miller. The girls finished 10th overall but were led by an outstanding performance by Mabry Free finishing 3rd overall. The top 7 were Mabry Free, Addison Vogelaar, Khloe Nalley, Victoria Waldrop, Clare Martin, Matalyn Vaughn, and Teresita Aviles.
Cullman's next cross country meet will be Saturday, September 17 at the Fairview Invitational at Fairview's Town Park.
Bearcat Swim Season Opener
Ruby Hudson - 100 yd freestyle, 200 yd freestyle, and 50 yd breaststroke
Chase Duncan - 100 yd freestyle, 50 yd freestyle, and 50 yd backstroke
Madison Clements - 100 yd IM, 50 yd fly, and 50 yd backstroke
Additionally, our girls relay team of Madison Clements, Ruby Hudson, Anna Page, and Morgan Fuller finished 1st in both the 200 yd medley relay and the 200 yd freestyle relay. Our guys relay team of Chase Duncan, Hilson Cole, Rhett Tysinger, and Luke Johnson finished first in the 200 yd medley relay with a come-from-behind finish by Luke Johnson.
CHS swim will compete again Thursday afternoon, September 15th at the Cullman Wellness and Aquatics Center vs Florence, Westminster Christian, and Athens.
