Oh My! What Happened to the Library Computers?
The MV Library is Always Open
Chrome Books have changed the face of the library. The row of student computers and tables have been removed since students have access to the high school library catalog wherever they are in the building or at any other location providing internet access. The Alexandria electronic catalog now supports smart phone searching. Links to research databases, books, and periodicals as well as free electronic books using the Freading Application can be found at the student/parent portal on the Mission Valley home page. Just select Library Catalog from the drop down menu. The library still remains the major student and staff source for reading and reference materials, but students can save time by searching for a book or other media on their ChromeBook before coming to the library for pick up and check out. Lexile levels are displayed on each book record for easy selection for special projects.
The new found library space can now be used for special displays celebrating cultures and interests, exhibiting class projects and promoting school events.
