Blood Drive Recap
Thank you to all who supported our Annual Hooker Oak Blood Drive! We were able to donate 19 lifesaving pints! A special thanks to Beth Geise for organizing the Blood Drive. What an awesome way for us to support our community!

Last Call for Pop Tabs!
The last day to collect pop tabs until *next* year is Friday, May 5. We need to take them to Durham to get them weighed and then we will get a check to give to Ronald McDonald house in Sacramento. Thank you to all who have sent in their Pop Tabs throughout the year!
CAASPP Testing Information for Grades 3-5
Students in grades 3-5 will take the computer-based ELA and Math CAASPP assessments in May. 5th graders will also take the computer-based Science assessment (CAST). Please see the testing schedule below.
To help support your student’s success during testing, please ensure your child:
Arrives at school on time
Eats a healthy breakfast at home or at school
Gets a good night's sleep
Has a snack and water if needed
Brings their charged Chromebook and wired headphones (headphones are available at the school site).Wireless headphones are NOT allowed.
Feels encouraged to do their best.

Students and Parents – join us in celebrating Chico Unified staff! Staff Appreciation Week is coming to Chico Unified in May. This year, we will collect notes and messages from students and parents and deliver them to our teachers and staff!

Send us a note about a Chico Unified teacher or staff member who has positively impacted your student's school. Shoutouts will be delivered to the recipient during our Chico Unified Staff Appreciation Week (May 15-May 19, 2023). Bus drivers, teachers, custodians, office staff, counselors, health staff, after school program, classroom aides, lunch staff ... send as many as you want!

Sprouty Store Wishlist
The Sprouty Store was a huge success last year, and we need donations for the new school year! The Sprouty store is a monthly student store that is available for 1st-5th grade students. Throughout the school year students earn Sproutys, Hooker Oak's school money, and they can spend them at the store. The Sprouty Store is able to happen from parent donations. You can check out our Amazon wish list, which gets directly sent to Hooker Oak, or if you spot something you think students will enjoy you can drop it off at the office. We appreciate all donations to the Sprouty Store!

Summer Camp 2023
CUSD is excited to offer Summer Camp on all elementary campuses! Please see the information below for more details.
Dates: June 5th – 30th (no program on June 19th for the Juneteenth Holiday)
Time: 7:30am – 1:00 pm with extended care option to 4:30 pm
Who is Eligible: Current TK-5th grade students
Paper applications will be available on May 1st
Spots are First Come First Serve
