The Board of Education recognized and congratulated the South Middle School Speech Team as all members earned strong scores at their contest! The Board recognized and thanked their Coach, Wes Skym as well.

The Board of Education recognized and congratulated the South & Thomas Musicians who participated in the ILMEA District 7 Honor Band. The Board recognized and thanked their music teachers, Oksana Lukaszewskyj from South and Candi Horton and Dana Berry from Thomas.

9. STUDENT LEARNING

Assistant Superintendent of Student Learning, Dr. Becky FitzPatrick, along with Katie Paulson, Advanced Learning, LMC & Creative Arts Coordinator; Lisa Szydlowski, Math and Elementary Fine Arts & PE Coordinator; Karen Pullam, Patton Kindergarten Teacher; and Lindsay Heitz, Greenbrier Kindergarten Teacher, presented the Board of Education with an update on the District's Full Day Kindergarten (FDK) programming set to begin in August 2024.
The Kindergarten Committee had been meeting for the past year and a half to plan the Full-Day Kindergarten instruction program, which will launch in the fall of 2024. The committee includes all kindergarten teachers and the Department of Student Learning. The committee is also collaborating with all other district departments.

A. ADOPTION OF THE 2023 TENTATIVE TAX LEVY
That the Board of Education approve the "RESOLUTION OF ARLINGTON HEIGHTS SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 25, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY OF TAXES FOR THE YEAR 2023."
Adopting a levy on an annual basis is one of the major functions of our Board of Education. Revenues from local property taxes generate approximately 83% of all revenues for this School District.
There were no changes to the proposed levy detailed at the the November 14, 2023 board meeting.

A. Joint Recreational Intergovernmental Agreement
That the Board of Education approve the revised Joint Recreational Intergovernmental Agreement by and between the Board of Education of Arlington Heights School District No. 25 and the Arlington Heights Park District as presented.
The District attorney and the Park District attorney suggested one more change to the "CAP" agreement to align with the law that school districts must do specific background checks on any vendor that works in our schools. This is an update to the agreement approved by the District 25 Board of Education from October 10, 2023.
