Encore Selection Sheets

In your mailboxes are encore selection sheets to go home with the students when we get back from break this week. If you could please pass them out on Monday, April 4th in homeroom. Students are to return them to Homeroom teachers by April 11. We will send communication out to all staff regarding next steps this week.

D47 Shoe Collection Drive!

Starting today D47 will be promoting the show collection drive for the Raue Center. Similar to Coat-A-Kid during the winter, the Raue's Shoe Donation Drive asks families to donate their gently used shoes for distribution to those in need. Each building will be provided clear plastic bags for students to place their clean, gently used shoes. A representative from the Raue will pick up full bags as frequently as needed; buildings just need to contact Denise Barr when a pick up is needed.
A SUPER-AWESOME comprehensive guide to Chromebooks, from Kathy Schrock, educator. Retired In 1995, Kathy created the award-winning site, Kathy Schrock's Guide for Educators, to help teachers easily wade through the many resources on the Web. In 1999, she partnered with Discovery Education and maintained the site until late 2012 when the site was retired. Kathy's current online resources may be found on Kathy Schrock's Guide to Everything!

The Acceptance Movement - Month of April

Mini-Lesson for the month (share with students): During the month of April we are focusing on acceptance, specifically self-acceptance via The Acceptance Movement.

#TheAcceptanceMovement doesn’t just focus on accepting others. It is about accepting yourself. Flaws and all. We all have issues and that’s okay. We also all have amazing, beautiful and awesome things about us. Sometimes we just need to focus on them.

This month, we want you to take a minute and think about your favorite things about yourself. We will post the photos of super cool people writing what they love about themselves on their hands.

In addition to #TheAcceptanceMovement, you may want to participate in (you can take part in one or BOTH), Viking Acts of Kindness (video to be shown in all lunches this week)

20 Random Acts of Kindness.
See if your students (or you) can solve this riddle! It's pretty intense (unless you're a Viking Math Teacher, of course)
Can you solve the locker riddle? - Lisa Winer
