Bucket-Filling Trait: Kindness

It's a Marvelous Monday at JSE

Good Evening JSE Families,

We are well into 2nd semester; in fact, progress reports come home next Thursday. We are taking all precautions to make sure we don't get the winter learning blues. Our schedules are full of new and exciting standards, our goals are rigorous, and we are looking forward to upcoming fun learning activities.

Educating the whole child: This Friday our students look forward to the Ned Show, a student assembly highlighting our successful learner and bucket-filling traits! I look forward to the Successful Learner breakfast this Thursday.

The Porter County Career Dental students will be here Tuesday afternoon for Dental Awareness Month. Students will learn important dental hygiene information and information on careers in the dental field.

Making Tracks: Bravo to our Science Bowl Team and Peter Pan Cast!

This Tuesday many of our 3-5th graders begin "Money Matters" after-school program with a JA community volunteer.

Save the date for our UTSC Elementary Free Winterland Fitness Night at WHS, more information below.

A reminder that we will not have school next week on Friday, the 12th and Monday, the 15th UNLESS we have a snow day before then.

Every Student, Every Day!

Fancy Nancy Week in the JSE Library

Next week will be a fun-filled fancy week in our library! We will be practicing our fancy manners, fancy vocabulary, and reading fancy books. The week will conclude with our fancy Valentine candlelight lunch on Thursday for students and staff. Please remember to dress up in all your fancy on Thursday for the red carpet walk!

From our schoolhouse Master Teacher Artist, Mr. Dickey:

Your budding artist has worked meticulously to make their art piece outstanding for our Art to Remember fundraiser. Information will come home in Thursday Folders on the 17th to place your order. In the meantime look at what all you can do to save your child's artwork for years to come and even give as a gift! click here for the fun art products

Kindergarten Round-Up: April 14th at 6pm

Please share with all future JSE Kindergarten Families! We look forward to seeing you on April 14th at 6pm in our cafeteria. Meet our Kindergarten teachers, pre-register, and get a tour of the school. At round-up we would also like to invite all future Kindergartners to sign-up for a morning 2 hour open house to explore our library, computer lab, classrooms, and cafeteria for a snack. At this time we will also be assessing your child's learning skills to help us prepare for next year and provide you with summer learning focus skills.
