District Adds to Team at Annual Recruitment Fair
On March 7, the District held its annual Teacher Recruitment Fair. More than 125 candidates came to Rutland High School Storm Tracker to meet and interview with principals, faculty and staff from all of our schools.
Several contingency contracts were handed out after onsite interviews. Additionally, potential new hires got to meet with various other departments within the District.
"This year's recruitment fair has been one of the highest attended in recent years," said Melanique Floyd, coordinator of talent management. "We are very confident that we have hired excellent candidates to join our team with many more to come."

Heard Elementary Chosen for Agriculture Grant
The Georgia Foundation for Agriculture has presented a $1,000 grant to Heard Elementary School for its agriculture education program. Heard is one of 26 elementary schools across Georgia selected to participate in a pilot program to introduce ag education to elementary students. Heard will use the grant to purchase supplies for a research and design project through which students will learn about the life cycle of chickens by hatching and caring for a flock of chickens.
