Onekawa School Newsletter

Week 1, Term 3, Friday 30 July

PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE

Welcome back to term three at Onekawa School! It was wonderful to see the children back, bright-eyed, and bushy tailed!

As you can see, the format of our newsletter has changed. It has more functionality in that we can insert links to other pages and videos. Another good feature is the ability to make the text bigger or smaller should you need to! I hope you enjoy the change.

I'm delighted to tell you that we have twelve miniball teams, one netball team, four hockey teams, two gymnastic teams and four soccer teams representing Onekawa School this term. Thanks again to all the teachers and parents who have offered to coach a team... we couldn't do it without you!

Nga mihi nui,

Steve

Spooner Shield

Onekawa School has been invited to contest the Spooner Shield, a sports competition that has been held for several decades between schools in the Taradale/Tamatea area.

The sports played for the Spooner Shield are: Year 5 Netball, Year 6 Netball, Rugby, Boys Soccer, Girls Soccer, and Hockey.

We are in the process of organising teams holding trials for the event. Children will be notified by the end of next week as to whether they have been successful in being selected for a team.
