September 19, 2021

I hope you are enjoying the beautiful weather this weekend! Personally, I don't want this weather to leave but soon the temperatures will change as we are welcoming in a new season this week. On the topic of changing weather, please keep in mind that students will continue to go outdoors for PE and recess. As the cooler temperatures approach please be sure they have a light jacket or sweatshirt that they can wear outside.

On September 21st, our district will be hosting a career fair at the Palatine Library. This will take place from 12:00-3:00. Currently the district is seeking interested candidates to fill positions are bus drivers, substitutes, program assistants, custodians, office and library clericals. Free Developmental Screenings

District 15 is hosting free developmental screenings for children birth to 33 months. This will be taking place on October 6th at Conyers Learning Academy. An informational flyer is attached.

Erin's Law

Illinois public schools are required by law to provide all students, from Grades Pre-K through 12, with age-appropriate personal safety awareness and prevention education. In order to comply with the requirement to provide developmentally sensitive and appropriate training for students, lessons have been carefully developed by Mental Health professionals in District 15. Classroom teachers have received annual professional development on this topic since the 2013-14 school year. I have included a letter in regards to Erin's Law and more information can be found on the district website. This presentation will occur in November.

I want to thank many of our parents for following our pick-up procedures. It helps us provide a safe dismissal for everyone. There are a few items we would like to remind our families for a safe dismissal process.

  • Students line-up by the letter of their last name if they are being picked up by a vehicle. Please do not ask your child to wait in another location.
  • Please pull your car all the way forward
  • Please ensure that you have your last name is in the front windshield so we can call your child's last name
  • Follow the directions given when we open "Lane 2", where you will also need to pull all the way forward.
  • Parents should not be parking in the school parking lot to pick-up students.
  • If you are exiting Lane 2 after school please remember that you are not able to make a right turn

This year students in District 15 will be provided breakfast. This will be a grab and go type breakfast in our cafeteria. We will begin providing breakfast at 8:25 until 8:40. Students will be dismissed to their classes at 8:35. Only students wanting breakfast will be able to enter through door #7 at 8:25. All other students will be allowed into our school at 8:35.
