January 2019

Principal's Note

Thank you to all the parents who helped their child complete the Winter Reading challenge. We gave away lots of books! Reading every day is a powerful habit to build into your child's day. It will pay dividends throughout their life.

I appreciate everyone's patience with the new dismissal procedures. We will continue to work out a few glitches. There will be an opportunity for feedback at the PTC meeting.

After the events in December, I have locked our front door to the building during school hours. This means all doors are locked in the building during school hours. If you visit us during the day, you will need to wait until the office staff opens the door. We will answer the door as quickly as we can. We will be getting a camera and a buzzer system installed. Until the installation happens, we appreciate your patience and understanding for any wait time you experience.

We will be having several night events this month at Sexton. I hope to see you there. I look forward to the opportunity to connect with families.

IlluminatED @ Sexton Mountain

We had an opportunity to have a group of Technology Specialists spend the day at Sexton. They taught every class a technology lesson. Teachers were able to view multiple lessons. During Early release time teachers were able to collaborate with the technology specialists, ask questions, and plan ways to incorporate more technology into their classrooms. Please click on the link below to see what kids were working on during the lessons.

Please join us! Social Emotional Learning Info Night (SEL)
