Big picture

Pep Rally Day! HS Band, Cheer, and Football players welcome Elementary students!

Football Games

Football is upon us! Please monitor your children at football games in order to avoid any injuries. We will not allow miniature football games like in years past. Any children running around without being monitored will be asked to go find their parents.

We understand kids will walk to and from the restrooms and concession stands. That is totally acceptable. We just want to make sure they are being monitored for safety purposes.

Pep Rally

We are attending all pep rallies this year. The pep rallies begin at 2:45. All students will report back to the elementary school for dismissal.

Stock the Student Store

This year, the 5th-grade leadership team will run a Student Store. All grade level students will earn Tiger Bucks based on meeting behavior and academic goals. Every Friday, students will get the chance to spend their Tiger Bucks in the Student Store.

We would greatly appreciate it if you are willing or able to contribute to the Student Store. This link will take you to an Amazon Registry of items to get the store started. Please do not spend more than $200 on donations if you wish to donate. If you are able to donate items, you may drop them off at the school and we will place them in the Student Store.

All students will track goals and learn financial literacy through managing their own Tiger Bucks in their class. Fifth Grade leaders are going to manage and take inventory of the store with the guidance of teacher leaders.

Whenever a student, class, or grade level reaches a goal, they will not only earn Tiger Bucks, but they will also earn a Tiger Stripe to go on the outside of their doors. This allows students to #showyourstripes and #leadlikeatiger this school year!

It's a great time to be a Tiger! Any community support will help make this venture possible.

Dismissal Cards

Parents/Guardians,

You must have a number card inside your window to pick up your student. If you would like to add their name and grade level to the card to help speed up dismissal, you are more than welcome to do that.

We check to see that you have a number card because that alerts us to whether or not someone is trying to pick up a student without permission. The safety of your child is very important to us. Thanks!

Secretary's Desk

If your child will be absent, you must communicate it via email or by a written note in order for it to be excused. A phone call is not accepted to excuse an absence.

Afternoon Dismissal Changes

Please contact the office by 1:00 if your child needs a different pick-up arrangement at dismissal. The end of the school day is a very busy time for Katie. Giving her this amount of time would make it easier for her to communicate these changes to the teachers. We understand emergencies happen. Thank you for your help in this matter!

Boys to Men

We will have our first Boys to Men meeting on September 1st at 7:30 AM for our 5th grade young men. Please make sure your child returns the form (with a parent signature) if you give your child permission to participate in the organization. Contact Mr. Pittman if you have any questions.

5th-Grade Camp

Just a reminder that 5th-grade camp is September 14-16. Please review the camp information letter and form if you have not already done so. We need to order the t-shirts by this FRIDAY!

Payment is due September 2nd. If you are unable to make the payment by then, please communicate this to katie.mealer@wwisd.com and we will work something out.

If you or anyone you know would be interested in sponsoring a student, please also email Katie and we will handle that for you also.

Thanks, and we are so excited!
