Let's Brainstorm
Now that the novelty of eLearning is wearing off, we are finding ourselves in a situation where student effort is beginning to wane and some students are not participating at all.
Think for a moment, what would you do if you had this same situation in your physical class each day? How can we turn those ideas into a way to motivate digitally and virtually?
An email will follow the delivery of this newsletter as a way for us to begin to brainstorm!
I'd love to hear what you are already doing and hear some ideas you have yet to try. Please "reply all" so we can see the ideas of everyone.
After today, we only have 10 more instructional days remaining and 4 more guidance lessons remaining.
We can do this!
eLearning
As you saw in the latest update, May 15th will be the final student day.
As a reminder, if students have not completed some work and are past the "due date" of when you count them present/absent, they can still make up the work for credit and their absence can be changed to present. Just email Kelly Siddons when you have this situation so that she knows to update IC.
Keep up the great work!
Shout outs!!
A shout out to Jordan Amor and Rebecca Dodd for sending grade level packets in one pdf. format. This has made the packet making process much easier!~Tina
A shout out to staff members who are working from home with little ones underfoot. I know you have to be exhausted. Hang in there!! WE are all cheering for you. ~Tina
A shout out to my husband. We painted our living room twice during this quarantine. I didn't like the first color so we had to do it again and he didn't kill me for wanting to change it.. :-) ~Tina
"Big shoutout to the flowers and card left on my front porch by Tina in honor of School Librarian Day! And speaking of libraries, let me know if you need to find a specific book or resource for your class! ;) " Renee B.

Draft Schedule 2020-2021
Our biggest challenge was to push math and reading before lunch. This makes an impact on our specials schedule slightly and will push Math Lab to later in the day, when we have traditionally had it before math class. We will work to find a solution that helps maximize Math Lab time in order to help close the achievement gap for those students.
