WLC/WLN Salute to Service Recap
On Friday, Oct.,15 the Walled Lake Central and Walled Lake Northern football teams played in honor of United States military personnel, veterans and first responders during the annual Salute to Service game. While the Knights came out on top 34-18, both teams should be proud of their efforts!
As a special tribute the Walled Lake Central football team recognized the 13 United States service members, who lost their lives on August 26, 2021 amid a massive evacuation effort outside of Kabul's International Airport in Afghanistan.
Salute to Service organizer, Robert Smiley said, “ We honor these heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our American ideals and while saving the lives of others. WLC and WLN play this great game every year to support Military Families United of Michigan.”

Kory Cioroch, WL Western head coach said, “We are proud of our kids and how they executed at a high level. We are starting to gel as a team and play our best football at the right time of the season. Our goal is continue to get better each day. We look forward to our rivalry game with WLC this week then going on a playoff run.”
