Note From Mr. Rustad: E-Learning Starts Tomorrow!

Kennedy Families,

I hope that this message finds you all safe, healthy, and enjoying this beautiful spring day! Tomorrow (April 23rd) is the first official day of e-learning for our Kennedy Cubs. Please take some time to watch the e-learning parent video that I have attached. I have also attached a parent and student handbook for e-learning.

Together we will team up to make the best of this difficult situation.

Thank you,

Steve Rustad

Frequently Asked Distance Learning Questions

How much time should my student be spending on school work during distance learning?

Students in grades K-2 should be spending up to 2 hours a day in distance learning. Students in grades 3-5 should be spending up to 2.5 hours a day in distance learning. Many teachers shared out sample daily schedules with their students in the materials that were handed out to families.

How do I connect with my student's teacher?

The best way for a family to reach out to a teacher at this time is through email. Your child's teacher is working everyday during their usual school hours. Many teachers also use Remind or SeeSaw as a method of communication. They will be checking that throughout the course of their work day. If you email or message them outside of the school day hours or during the weekend, you may not hear back until the next working day.

Kennedy has a secretary on duty each school day from 7:30 AM until 3 PM. You can always call the school with general questions at (507)387-2122.

How do I get my student logged into Google Classroom?

Follow the easy steps posted in the picture below. Your student's username and password were attached to a technology letter that was included in the materials that were sent home on March 27. If you cannot locate that information, check with your student. They most likely remember it. They have been using it often throughout the school year. If they do not remember, please email your student's teacher and they will send it to you.
