Writing Celebration
On Tuesday, October 31st we will be celebrating all of our hard work in writing by sharing our pieces with a second grade class. On this day, we encourage all students to dress formally as if they were going to a book premiere. Help us promote great writing by congratulating your writers on a job well done so far.
Student-Led Conferences
Friday, November 2nd will be a half-day of school. Students will be dismissed at 11:45 am. During the afternoon, families are invited to come for student-led conferences. In your child's classroom, your son or daughter will walk you through his or her class goals and show his or her progress for each one. The teacher will be available to facilitate; however your child will be leading the conference. IF YOU HAVE NOT SIGNED UP FOR A CONFERENCE TIME, PLEASE DO SO ASAP!
Heritage Day
Mark your calendars for Friday, November 17th for our Heritage Day Celebration. This is a tradition at GES that simultaneously honors our grandparents and/or veterans. We would love a grandparent and/or veteran of each child to join us at 2pm that day for some songs and activities. More information to come.
shoes for PE
Please remember to send your child to school in tennis shoes every day. If it is a special dress day, please send them with tennis shoes to wear for PE. Other shoes such as dress shoes and boots can ruin our gym floor. Thank you for helping with this!
SAve the date
December 8th is our annual Candy Houses with a Loved One. You, or someone who loves your child, is invited to come and decorate candy houses in the cafeteria. The fun starts at 8am and lasts about an hour. Please make arrangements for yourself or another adult to participate that morning.
Label Your Items
Please take the time to label ALL of your child's personal items. This will hopefully ensure that all of your things return home to you each day. Please write first and last names, or first initial and last name, on backpacks, lunch boxes, jackets, sweaters, and hats (when weather gets cooler).
