Each students participating need to log about 13 minutes a night Monday-Friday from now until March 4th. Happy Reading!

## Math- Geometry

We have built on their knowledge from first grade about shapes and build on concepts and discuss flat surfaces, vertices, and edges on solid figures. As well as comparing plane shapes to solid figures. Last week we had fun making new shapes below are some pictures! We will discuss congruency and symmetry this week!

If you need a refresher for homework:

• Shapes are congruent if they have the same size and shape.
• Symmetry means that if we drew a line through the shape or folded it would it be the same on both sides. For example a heart or a square would be considered symmetrical.

Below are some pictures of them using play-dough to make landforms. Last week we learned about plains so that is what they were modeling with their play-dough.
