The Time Has Come
We are at that time of the year where we are winding down and looking to the last couple of weeks of school. There is a lot going on; so let's get to it!

International Night
This is a fun event, so come out and take a tour around the world!

How Much: FREE
DDA's
To recap, DDA's are Gwinnett County's end-of-nine-week test, which we have taken all during the year. They are an indicator of what your child have learned during that nine week period.
I will be giving all parents a copy of the results of the DDA's for the entire year at the end of the year, along with a report card.
5th Grade School Dance
Oh, and by the way this is a NO PARENT ZONE!
Where: Nesbit Elementary Cafetaria
When: Monday 18th, May 2015
Time: 6-8pm
Promotion Ceremony
Here are the important details for the 5th Grade Promotion Ceremony:
- When: May 19th, 2015
- Where: this information will be sent home in a flyer
- Time: 6pm
- How Much: Ticket Admission
Each student will have two invitations only, (one invite = one guest) for two guests. Due to restrictions with health and safety we have to abide with the total number of people that are allowed in the building at any one time. Decide in advance which two people will be attending!
Students, of couse do not need a ticket, they are our guests of honor.
5th Grade Cook Out
Where: Nesbit Elementary Playground
When: Wednesday 20th, May 2015
How Much: $5
There is a charge of $5 for each student. This covers the cost of either a hot dog or hamburger, plus a drink, and chips.
Please note, this event is not a right, but a privilege. Students who have not complied with school rules or achieved their personal academic successes will be given the opportunity during this time to make up any outstanding work. Parents will be notified in advance of such arrangements.

REMINDERS
Text Books, Library Books, Lunch Fees
- Please remind students to begin returning their Social Studies and Science text books. We will be checking them in the next week.
- If there is an outstanding balance for breakfast/lunch fees, please see a Cafetaria Staff Member
- I usually take students to the library to check out books, again, like the text books, next week will be the deadline to return those library books.
Last Day of School
You may be asking why we're breaking up a day later, but we need to make up a snow day, which we missed late last year during our (calmer) snow storm.
