Founders Weekly
March 11th to 15th
Shout out!
So many great things happened last week! I want to recognize a few:
- Chef Park for doing a wonderful job with our lunch program and stepping up to cover anything and everything!
- Mrs. Strumolo for field trip coordination!
- Mr. Brinker for being an active, engaging educator every day, all day!
March....
March is infamous for being the longest and hardest month of the school year. It can feel super challenging to get through. Remember that this will pass and practice good self-care to manage your stress.
Arts Change
On Thursday we begin our performing arts rotation and begin to prepare for Shakespeare in the Park. Ms. Kearney has been amazing! Hopefully she will be with us to sub!
Pi Day
The students will be celebrating Pi Day on 3/14! We will be contacting families of students with allergies just in case.
End of Day Routine
Please have your students put the chairs on the tables at the end of block 6. It is super challenging for the Tiffany and Fernando to do that for every class.
Passes from Study and Recess
Please do not send kids out of the room during recess and study. If they need to get games, one student may get them at the end of lunch or the start of recess. If they need to use the bathroom between recess and study would be best.
Outdoor Recess
Please be mindful of returning on-time from the last recess. They are heading into an instructional class so please make sure they are back to the 3rd floor no later 12:45 for class, a few minutes earlier if they need to visit lockers.
Grodon Center Trainings
Please make time to join us for the Grodon Center training series. The 4 1.5 hour presentations are being specifically designed to support us in creating toolboxes to better understand and manage the needs of our current population. This is meant to empower our faculty and staff and decrease the amount of stress on all of us. All sessions are from 2:45 to 4:15. The dates are: 3/20, 4/1, 5/1, 5/15.
Pineapple Chart
I am challenging all staff to participate in the Pinapple Chart as both a host and observer (those without classes are encouraged to observe classrooms they don't normally see!) from now until April break. Please sign up as a host before that date!
6th Grade Field Trip
We will be sending our 6th graders to see Shakespeare to Hip Hop, a show created by Marion Carey (Addie's dad) on April 23rd. Specific details to follow to the 6th grade team.
Copies
Please do not send kids down to make copies during the day, they are asking Kayla and Yeidi to stop what they are doing to make them and it is disruptive to their day.
Student Shout Outs!
Please let us know if you have any student shout outs for town meeting this week!
Office
Mr. Rea is constructing a half door to reduce office traffic during school hours. Hopefully this will reduce the temptation of "popping in between 8am and 2:25 and reduce trafffic to actual needs while keeping the line of sight to the door and hallway for safety reasons.
Cups
Please remind students we do not provide cups if they request a pass to the office for one. If students forget their water bottles they must use the 4th floor bubbler for the day.
