All schools in the San Diego Unified School District have "hot weather" plans in place for continued operations of schools during periods of extremely hot weather. The guidelines for the plans are outlined in Administrative Procedure 4032.
A letter was sent to parents via email on April 7, 2022 outlining this information. Click here to read the letter in English or Spanish.
PEER ACADEMIC MENTORING PROJECT
The Counseling Department started up a Peer Academic Mentoring Project recently. We selected 8th grade students in strong academic standing to participate as mentors to a group of 6th graders who struggled with their academics 1st semester and/or 3rd Quarter. The students meet on Fridays during Advisory to look at their grades in PowerSchool, check in on progress, and set goals for the upcoming week. It will give students a chance to learn from a student who has had success in what strategies have helped them. We plan to celebrate the students for any improvements at the next grading period.
UCSD’s Health and Anti Recidivism Project seeking to form positive connections with students at risk and/or touched by the Justice system. Students/parents use INTEREST FORM to request 1 on 1 or group tutoring and mentorship from students from UCSD, Berkeley, and other UC schools.
