From the Principal:
Dear Parents,
We had our first LEAD Day today focusing on Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind. Students shared what they wanted to do when they grow up and goals for this year. They talked about the importance of making plans to meet goals. Please ask your child to tell you about the characters Goob and Jumper they saw in a video.
Thank you to all of our parents who met with their child’s teacher for parent/teacher conferences. As usual, we had a great turn-out, and your involvement shows your child the importance you place on education. We encourage you to continue communication with your child’s teacher and follow-up on any items that were discussed at the conference.
Please mark your calendar for our annual Fall Read-In, scheduled for Thursday, October 25th from 6-7:30 p.m. This event is free and students are allowed to wear their Halloween costumes. Students must be accompanied by an adult, and this event is open to elementary students only. We need bags of wrapped candy, tubs of icing, and sprinkles. Please have your child bring donations to the office. This event is a student favorite and promises to be a fun and spooky evening!
October is ‘National Bullying Prevention Month.’ Mrs. Eckhardt (Student Support) will be doing a presentation with each classroom to talk about physical, verbal, and nonverbal bullying. Cyberbullying will also be included in the discussion in grades 4-6.
We will be recognizing ‘Red Ribbon Week’ the week after Fall Break to encourage students to be drug-FREE and say NO to drugs. Students will receive a small token each day to remind them to make good choices.
Please make sure that you read the newsletter for upcoming events. There are many activities the week we get back from Fall Break and in November.
Have a Safe and Fun Fall Break!
