Message From the Principal
The kids are really getting into the groove of routines and expectations and doing a wonderful job. They know that we expect them to work hard, and play hard, and that's what they're doing. It's so nice to be back to such a normal type of school day.
The Lake Tapps PTA Committee held it's first meeting on Wednesday night, and what a tremendous turnout of parents who want to get involved with PTA! It's amazing to see how supportive our parent community is of our great little school district. The Lake Tapps PTA Committee supports both Lake Tapps Elementary and Dieringer Heights Elementary. They provide funds to purchase playground equipment, books for our library, resources for our families in need, assemblies and field trips. They support our students and families in other ways as well. They run the Reading At Home program (RAH), provide fun activities for families throughout the year like movie nights, father/daughter dance, mother/son fun night, an annual school carnival, and more. They do all of this through ONE fundraiser each year--the walkathon. The walkathon is coming up on October 6 here at LTES and October 5 at DHES. It's the PTA Committee's only fundraiser and they get amazing support from our community. Information has already gone home about the walkathon. I know the PTA would love any support you can provide. Be sure to come to school on the walkathon date to join us for a fun afternoon. It will start soon after the lunch hour, around 1:00-1:15.
Sincerely,
Pat Webster

Updated Student Information Needed
If you have not yet updated your child's Annual Student Information, please complete these forms as soon as possible. This process is required annually and replaces the paper forms that were sent home in the past.
These steps must be completed separately for each child.
Log in to Skyward Family Access using this link, or by clicking the Skyward button on the upper right side of the Dieringer website. The Skyward URL has changed since last school year. If you previously bookmarked the site, you will need to update it to the URL linked above. NOTE: This process cannot be completed in the Skyward Mobile App. You must use the link above.
**If you don’t know or have forgotten your user name or password, click here.**
Using the blue menu on the left, select Annual Student Information Update.
Read and follow the detailed instructions there to:
Step 1. Verify or update your student and family information
Step 2. Verify your family’s military status (required by state legislature)
Step 3. Verify your student’s race/ethnicity fields (required by WA state)
Steps 4 - 11: Complete the online forms regarding technology, health, housing, transportation, parent handbooks, and picture consent.
Step 12. Submit to complete the process.
This process replaces many of the required paper forms used in the past, and must be completed individually for each child. If you need assistance, please contact the school office.

PTA Walkathon
We hope that everyone is getting the year off to a good start. This is our one and only fundraiser that the PTA will be doing this year and the money that we raise helps to fund all the fun events throughout the year; as well as support the teachers and schools with special funding requests. This year our events team is excited to be able to do all the fun events that have been offered in previous (to covid) years, including the holiday shop, father/ daughter dance, mother/son night and the end of the year carnival to name a few.
This year we decided that we would provide shirts (free of charge) to the students and staff to help bring everyone together the day of the walk-a-thon. We also scaled back on some of the individual prizes in order to offer more class prizes to the students. In an effort to help get as many students as we can to participate we are offering 2 pizza parties per grade level, 1 for the highest class participation for the grade and 1 for the highest amount raised for the grade. This means that there will be a total of 12 pizza parties between the K-5 grades. We will work with preschool on what type of party they would like to have for their class.
Here is the link for the pledgestar website PledgeStar (https://pledgestar.com/ltes/?)
New this year with PledgeStar is that once you have set up the students account you can go under the "Share on Social Media and other ways" tab and print out a sheet that the student can take if they are planning to collect donations in person. On this sheet it will include a little about what we are raising money for and a personal QR code that anyone can scan with their phone to make an online donation direct to PledgeStar for the student, no more having to collect and carry money around.
Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions you or families might have. We are hoping that we can at least match, if not exceed, what we raised last year; which was around $86,000 .
Thank you for all your support, we appreciate all that you do for our students,
