Caring Closet Update
These programs were launched in the Fall and have continued to grow steadily. As we start the second semester, we are now providing weekly food bags for 42 students, and have sent home clothes and coats with 16 children.
We couldn't be more thankful for all of the generous donations.
Special thanks goes to UP Ministry who has generously donated $1,000 to our closet and will continue to provide ASE with large food bags to be sent home weekly.
Thank you also to the individuals, families and classes that have donated.
As the UP Ministry motto says, "We are lifting UP kids in our community".
Mrs. Pennington's class donated SOCKS!! Thank you, kindergarten!
Mrs. Edge and Ms. Hitchcock are so excited to stock up the caring closet!

Morning Arrival Updates
We will watch the traffic flow each morning and determine if we need to open the front line. If the cars are getting backed up, we will open the front line at 7:20 to alleviate traffic and get the kids in the building on time.
Please do not get out of your car. *Note: If you have a young child in a car seat that is on the left side of the car, please remain in line to drop off in the back.
ATTENDANCE / ABSENCES
Attendance Reminders
Argyle ISD elementary schools take attendance at 9:30am per TEA guidelines. If your child arrives after 9:30am or is checked out before 9:30am, your child is counted as ABSENT for that day unless you have a doctor’s note. Our school funding is tied to student attendance as well as opportunities to earn school distinctions. Our goal is 98% daily attendance. Please make every effort to ensure your child is present for attendance.
In January, we will be sending attendance letters if your child already has 8 or more absences. Since we have 4 quarters, this means they are at risk of accumulating 17 absences by the end of the school year
Absences
Is your student sick? Do they have an appointment or will they miss a day of school? Reporting an absence is convenient and there is no need to call or write a handwritten note. Simply go to the ASE webpage and click on REPORT AN ABSENCE to complete the form. Please remember to email your student's homeroom teacher to let them know how your child is doing and always bring in a doctor's note if you have it. Please refer to the Attendance link listed in the Quick Links on the ASE webpage for more information.
We take attendance each day at 9:30 a.m.
The holiday season presented us with many delicious treats. Try to challenge yourself and your family in 2023 to continue to make healthy choices. Research has proven that if a family makes healthier choices together, the children will achieve long-term success in weight management and nutritional goals. Eat Healthy, Sleep Well, Breathe Deep, Enjoy Life.
Illnesses
~Please remember that your child must be fever free/vomit free for at least 24 hours without medications before returning to school after an illness.
~It's Cold and Flu Season! Please keep Nurse Kris notified if your student tests positive for Flu, Covid, Strep, or any other identifiable illnesses. This helps us identify clusters of illnesses.
Thank you for helping us keep our students healthy!

Dental Health Matters!
- During the month of February, the American Dental Association celebrates National Children’s Dental Health Month. This month-long national health observance reinforces the importance of oral health in children as well as helping parents with tips to keep their child’s smile on track!
We are ready for lunch visitors!
Please limit your lunch visits to once per week. This will avoid overcrowding and we won't have to assign certain days for each grade level.
- You can apply for free or reduced meals, make payments, view purchase history, receive low balance alerts, and view school menus containing nutritional and allergen information for items.
- For convenience, setup automatic payments to replenish your child's cafeteria funds.
- Know what is on the menu at the school cafeteria and provide feedback by rating and sharing items.
- Favorite your child's favorite items and SchoolCafé will send you a push notification to let you know when it's on the menu.
You can download the app or register online at schoolcafe.com/argyleisd
