Principal Update

Dear Parent(s), Guardian(s), & Students,

Are you ready for these last 5 weeks of school? I don't want you to miss any of the excitement! Please check over classroom newsletters and the list of events from above (or download/use our website calendar to sync to your phone) for all the specifics.

As the school year winds down, many of you have asked what next year will look like at BRMES. We currently have 60 Kindergarten students enrolled for next fall. Based on our current enrollment of 415, and adjusting for any families moving in or out, we expect to continue with three sections/classrooms at every grade level. We will be keeping a close eye on Kindergarten enrollment in the event we need to ask for a fourth classroom.

If you missed the April newsletter, you can still submit any classroom placement input to me by May 3rd. Your child's current classroom teacher is currently working on placement groups for the 2019-20 school year.

As a reminder, today (May 1st), morning choices for students who arrive before 8:05 will be to go to breakfast OR head outside to play until the last day of school. Dress for the weather.

We are committed to teaching and learning until the last day of school on June 6th! We hope we can maintain high student attendance, academics, excitement for learning, and smiles as we take on these last five weeks of school! We welcome you for any and all of the special events!

Staff Appreciation Week ~ May 6-10

It brings me so much joy to see how many volunteers/families contributed to the sign up for our upcoming Staff Appreciation Week. THANK YOU! The staff is bound to feel the joy and appreciation from not just the parents; but from the students too. Some of the best gifts are those simple kid made notes, hugs and words. Thank you again for making this one amazing school family.

Click here for the Staff Appreciation Week SIGN UP sheet (if you missed it in your email).

Bike to School Day is Wednesday, May 15th

Students, meet at the post office at 7:40 A.M. with your bike and helmet. Parents are welcome to ride along with us or volunteer as safety monitors along the route. Students will learn the "safe route" to bike to school.

June 5th: Color Run and Field Day

This year the color run will be combined with field day. Grades 3-5 will run in the morning and grades K-2 will run in the afternoon. We always need parents to help us come spray the kids with color at this SUPER FUN annual tradition.
