You'll be me and I'll be you.

Ellie and Jack spend their summer two different ways. Ellie spent hers trying to keep her lifelong "best friend" that was popular and rude. Jack spent his working out, practicing, and staying healthy for hockey. It was their first day back to Thatcher middle school. Jack got in a fight and Ellie heard something she never wanted to hear. They ended up meeting in the nurse's office and told each other that their lives are easier than theirs. Then BOOM! and there they are in each other's bodies living each other's lives.

"It's like I'm looking in a mirror... Only there is no mirror... I'm looking right at me" - Ellie O'Brien pg. 74

This story is about courage and fear. They fear what is going to happen to them while they switched lives, but they have the courage to find out what it is like being a different person.

This is a man vs. man and man vs. self type of book. Man vs. man is an external conflict, it could be mental or physical, and it is between two different characters. Ellie and Jack struggle being each other physically and mentally. It's hard for them to get used to it and they don't know what to do. This could also be man vs. self. Man vs. self is an internal conflict with themselves.

"Be yourself everyone else is already taken." - Oscan Wilde

BLUE

“I don't think I have ever seen someone with that kind of talent you have. You can't teach that. The truth is, you're better than any of us. That feeling of proving yourself all the time? Use it. Let it drive you. Accept everything outside your control and go harder. Don't think about tomorrow, just think about right now.”
