Tigerville Times
December Edition
From the Principal's Desk
Dear Tigerville Families,
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving! Be sure to ask your child about their reading “wow” word each night. We have learned a lot of new words at Tigerville. Our Holiday Bash will be on December 9th at 6:00 pm. We hope to see everyone. Please make plans to come see our beautiful Christmas tree in the front hallway. Every child has decorated an ornament for the tree. We will send the ornaments home on December 20th so everyone can enjoy them as well. Bundle up and be ready for a fantastic December at Tigerville!
Sincerely,
D. Jackson

Counselor's Corner
In December, our students will be learning and practicing the good character word of Kindness. Classroom guidance lessons will focus on how we can show Kindness to others, as will presentations on our morning news show. With the holidays coming up, this is the perfect time to share Kindness to our family and friends. Our students often wonder how they can show Kindness – it doesn’t have to be anything big or expensive… sometimes sharing our time, or doing something thoughtful for someone is the best way to show Kindness.
Our Student Council is preparing for our annual ‘Toy Drive’, which will be held January 6th through 10th. You can donate your gently used toy in our front lobby during this time, so please look through your closets and toy bins, and plan to bring those toys your children may not love as much anymore, or play with anymore, to our Toy Drive in January.
Career Day is coming in January for our 3rd through 5th graders! Parents who would like to speak with a few classes about their jobs are welcome to join us for this special event, on Friday January 31st from 9:00am until 10:30am. Please contact our School Counselor, Mrs. McElvenny, to reserve your spot at Career Day.

Music Notes
Wow! So difficult to believe it is December. An exciting and busy time of the year for all of us. The Tigerville Chorus did an amazing job at the Veteran's program and to say I'm proud of them is an understatement. We have the Holiday Bash on Monday, December 9th at 6:00. Chorus members need to arrive no later than 5:30. We will sing 3 different times so you can pick a time to come watch and still be able to have time at other locations in the school. Auditions for main roles have already started and should be announced before Friday, December 20th.
All 1st-5th grade students now have a working Quaver account. This is a wonderful program that allows your child to learn musical facts, styles, theory, and even history. Please allow them to have some fun while learning on this program. If your child has any problems with login this is the general rule:
username: 1st letter of last name-followed by their name-and then first 2 letters of their last name.
password: either their first name or their last name.
If you have any problems, please don't hesitate to call-email me with any questions.

Message from Coach C
Last month, the Health Fair was a success! It was great to see the families of Tigerville and share the great healthy snacks with everyone. Throughout the Holidays, with extra time at home, try some of those snack ideas! Making healthier choices is always a great idea! If you were unable to make it, and would like the recipes, please contact me via phone or email. Lastly, please remember that your child needs 30 minutes of exercise daily, minimum! Thank you for all of your help in assisting your child in achieving an active and healthy lifestyle!
Running Club
Our last running club meeting for the fall will be Monday, December 2nd. Please remember that your child needs to be picked up from running club at 3:45. Also, as a reminder, starting upon returning to school in January, running club will be held EVERY MONDAY, unless otherwise noted on the calendar, from 2:30-3:45!
