Warwick Weekly

February 13, 2020

Big picture
Our weeklies will be emailed and posted on our web page most Thursdays in the evening. The newest points of interest will appear at the top along with a review of the previous week and things to look forward to for the next week. We include links to our Warwick Parent/Guardian Handbook and a page where we curate previously publicized flyers for easy referral. If you have ideas on how to improve our Warwick Weekly as a means of communication, "we want to hear from you." Please use the online feedback form that can be found at the end of each Weekly to share your ideas, thoughts, and concerns with us.

NEWS ITEMS

January Birthday Poem

Congratulations to 2nd Grader Madison N. whose poem was chosen as the January Birthday Poem. Madison's poem was not only full of good wishes for happiness, but it was also full of color! Thank you for sharing your talents to help others have a special birthday, Madison!

Hearts Full of Kindness

Our Kindness Club created a Kindness Mission Tree so that students could take a heart mission, complete it, and add it to the tree. The tree is quickly filling up with hearts and in turn, our hearts are filling up with love and kindness! Thank you Kindness Club!

Our Kindness Club is for 5th & 6th Graders and meets after school. Mrs. Kristen Sleicher, School Counselor, is the Advisor.

Be the I in KiND

Teachers Mrs. Hartzell and Mrs. Lee and their students put together a beautiful interactive "Be the I in KiND" wall display so that students can step on the footprints and pose for a photo. Pictured here is Fifth Grader Austin F.

Reminders about Arrival and Dismissal

Student Arrival

Students may begin arriving at 8:45 AM. Students are not permitted to arrive before 8:45 AM. The instructional school day begins at 9:05 AM.

Late Arrival to School

Any student arriving after 9:05 AM is late and can not be "dropped off" using the Meetinghouse Road parking lot loop. Parents/guardians need to park their cars and walk their late students into the Main Office. The parent/guardian will need to fill out an attendance slip with the reason for the lateness. See our Warwick Welcome (a.k.a. Handbook) for excusable reasons for lateness and absences.

Student Dismissal

Our instructional day ends at 3:45 PM. Our dismissal procedures occur between 3:45 and 4:05 PM.

Changing Your Dismissal Routine

If it is necessary to change your normal pick-up routine at the end of the day (e.g., a different adult picking up, bus rather than car, car rather than bus, a change in childcare arrangements, etc.) a written note must be presented to the classroom teacher, who will share the information with the office.

For unforeseen changes, parents/guardians may notify the office before 3:00 PM by phone (267-893-4055) of the change. Because teachers are engaged with students' learning and will not be able to check their email during the instructional day, do NOT email or call the classroom teacher regarding changes in dismissal plans.
