Mr & Mrs Nosey
GREENWICH VILLAGE APARTMENT MURDER BY MARIAH WILLIAMS
GREENWICH VILLAGE, NEW YORK 1954
In Greenwich, most people are so consumed with their personal life that no one pays attention to others. I on the other hand get paid for being in everyone's business so finding this killer was very important not only to me but also to my fellow neighbors. L.B Jefferies and Lisa Carol Fremont are most commended to have found the killer and bring his to justice and saved the neighborhood of this silent killer, Lars Thorwald.
FEMINISM TODAY IN THE 1950S
- Feminism today: Equal job opportunities, Treated no different because of your sex, and finally dress the same way in a sense.
- Feminism in 1950s: Women were mainly housewives or Models, Women were not taken seriously by a man and women would wear dresses and skirts.
- Between these two time eras was an evolution of women gaining the same respect as men and changing fashionably like women wearing mini skirts and pants rather than a dress that is below the knee, and women applying for a same position as a man would do normally like reporting news and running a successful business.
TENANTS AND FEMINIST CRITICISM
L.B. Jefferies
Being a photographer he has always been a risky man even bound by his wheelchair he is seen as a hero in his world while the real hero, Lisa was treated as a potential victim. Feminism is seen not equal because it is the men that solve the mysteries.
Lisa Carol Fremont
Being a model she is seen as a women who doesn't know anything but assume reckless assumptions. The feminism that is shown is that she was the real hero by going into Mr.Thorwald's apartment and getting the evidence they needed to solve Mrs.Thorwalds disappearance.
Miss Lonelyheart
Thinking she will be forever alone and pretends to reenact her date she shows that all women just want to be love and so the more emotional type of a women which is show as being too sensitive and weak.
Miss Torso
being a dancer and showing way too much skin she is seen as a sex object in the 50s but in our time zone she could be seen as a regular women because a lot of women wear "revealing" clothing.
Stella
As seen in the 50s her character is very blunt about what she says and thinks because she won't let a man walk over her and women like that are considered wise or straight up.
Lars Thorwald
This killer is shown as a man with no feelings of remorse inside him a will not tolerate any women disrespecting him. Most men will praise his act of being a killer as strength even though it is the most cowardice thing you could possibly do.
