Getting To Know your orchestra teachers
Mrs. Sarah Klicker began her violin study in 3rd grade at Franklin Elementary and participated in the orchestra programs in the North Allegheny School District until graduating in 2005. Mrs. Klicker graduated from Duquesne University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education. Prior to her appointment to North Allegheny, Mrs. Klicker taught grades 4-6 elementary school orchestra and Pre-K to 6th grade general music in the Woodland Hills School District. She enjoys being an active member in the string community attending string conferences, OSU string teacher training, and Suzuki teaching training. Mrs. Klicker performs violin often at local weddings and with the Washington Symphony Orchestra. She lives in Avalon with her husband, Daniel, and two children, Elijah and Audrey.
Mrs. Tara Lewis is so excited to be joining the faculty at North Allegheny School District!
She began her music study at the age of four, when she began playing the violin (or fiddle, as she prefers!). Throughout her early years of learning, she studied both the classical Suzuki approach, as well as various folk and fiddling styles. She is a 5 time Pennsylvania State fiddling champion and has taught various workshops throughout the United States and Canada. She graduated from Grove City College in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Music Education. In 2010, she earned a M.A.L.S. with a concentration in Appalachian, Scottish and Irish Studies from East Tennessee State University. Prior to working at Marshall Elementary School, she was a Professor of Traditional Music at Morehead State University and also taught General Music and Beginning Strings at Ashland Independent School District in Ashland, KY.
Mrs. Lewis enjoys spending time with her daughter and husband, cooking, traveling and going to concerts.
