Mrs. Walters' News
Dear Bushnell Elementary Families,
Happy Halloween weekend everyone! I hope everyone who chooses to celebrate has a fun and safe Sunday night! At Bushnell, we had a fantastic day filled with lots of treats, a 'mostly' dry parade, and some donuts and cider for all. Thank you to those who donated items and who came to cheer on our parade!
Check out the pictures below of myself and Cherry Creek principal, Craig Veldman. We both made a commitment to our students that if they met their fundraising goals we would dress ourselves with our opposite team colors before the big game. I will honestly say that putting on maize and blue this morning was difficult! I bleed GREEN as a spartan grad! The kids enjoyed it though and that's what really matters!
It's hard to believe that October will be behind us and November starts Monday! It's this time of year that many people turn their thoughts to thankfulness and gratitude. While there have been lots of challenges and difficulties for so many people this last year and a half, I think it's important to spend time sharing with our kids what specifically makes us grateful to have them in our lives. I am always mindful of the gift I have in getting to spend my days with your children- they are amazing.
Are you and your family in need of assistance for the holidays? if so, please call us at 987-2650 to let us know. We are already receiving inquiries from local businesses and organizations looking to sponsor families for thanksgiving meals as well as Christmas help.
We could use donations of winter gear (used or new!) as we start to head into the colder months. Jackets, snow pants, hats, mittens and boots are all greatly appreciated.
With the weather changing and fluctuating, please be sure to dress your children in layers so they can add or remove a layer as needed throughout the day.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Erin Walters (GO GREEN!)
