It Takes a Village
St. Joe's Playground Clean-Up in Under 8 Hours!
The Call Went Out . . .
. . . MANY THANKS TO THOSE WHO ANSWERED!
On Sunday, the Ehlbeck family posted on Facebook that they were going to pull the crabgrass and weeds growing rampant in the playground at St. Joseph Church. They were starting at 9:00 am on Monday and welcomed anyone to join them.
Many thanks to Connie Gogel (Aquin Staff), Todd McKenna (Aquin '84), Angela Meyers Garcia (Aquin '92), Anthony Garcia (Aquin '25) & Colton Roberts (Aquin '25), Josie Ehlbeck (Aquin '16), Clare Ehlbeck (Aquin '11), Mary Lehnard, Lexie Lehnard (Aquin '25), Steve Ehlbeck (Aquin '67) and Peg Ehlbeck. Your efforts were tremendous and greatly appreciated as seen by the smiling faces of the neighborhood children above. And we know the St. Joe's Campus students will be just as grateful during recess next week!
WAY TO GO DAWGS!
What Awesome Workers!
Seven of the neighborhood kids were inspired by the hard work on their 'neighborhood playground' and they came to help load up the pulled weeds and finish off the job.
(As a treat, not only were they able to play on the weed-free playground, they also got to play with Mrs. Diemer's camera. And they are pretty darn good photographers!)
And Then More Calls Went Out
To Be Continued . . .
If you are inspired by the efforts above (and below) and are interested in helping with this stage of the project--or have resources to help complete this project--please let us know. Ideally, this would be completed before the first recess bell rings on Monday, August 20. But we will be open to any options brought our way.
Please call either Aquin Office if you can help in any way:
- St. Joe's Campus . 815-232-6416
- High School Campus . 815-235-3154 x 224
But That's Not All. Oh No, That's Not All!
Thank you to Sullivan's for their generous donation. And thank you to Jeremy for his efforts as well.
WAY TO GO DAWG!
