What does the Grading System Look Like?

D-distinguished

S-Strong

M-Moderate

5/6 Math grading will be based on percentages. Students will be given the traditional letter grades A,B,C,D,F


How Much Homework Will My Child Get Each Night?


Language Arts: 30 minutes of nightly reading + word work study + occasional project/paper

Math: Aleks (90 minutes a week) + assessment study. If your child is spending over 30 minutes a night on homework let me know so we can accommodate. If there is a night that frustrating/hard overwhelming/ stop and put a note on it. No crying in math!

Science: Assessment Study + light homework

Social Studies: Assessment Study + occasional projects


Students get OOPS PASSES=one more day to complete their homework

Free Math Lunch once a Week (THURSDAYS). Students can come in ask for help, work on homework or ALEKS.

What Are Your Snack Procedures?


Students eat snack in the afternoon. Pack Healthy. The office does have extra snacks in the office for special circumstances. Please ask if your child is in a peanut-free classroom.
