Summer School 2020-2021!
From the Desks of O'Shaughnessy & Meneses
Our first edition of the Summer School newsletter!
We will be sending this out periodically through the winter and spring to keep you up-to-date on all-things Summer School! We would first like to publicly thank our staff from Summer School 2020. They did an immense amount of work and spent a ton of time planning and changing in the midst of the pandemic. We saw some amazing things from our teachers and students!
We are already in the throes of planning for a fun and productive Summer School 2021, and are very excited to offer all-important extended learning experiences for our students! As you can imagine, navigating and planning through the continued pandemic proves quite challenging, but working together with positivity (and a bit of grace!) we expect to provide families and students a great experience and do some great things this summer!
At this time, we are planning an in-person learning experience for Summer School. We continue to have the health and safety of our students, staff, and families as a top priority. As we move through the winter and spring we will share with you new protocols and procedures in place during Summer School in order to ensure the safety of all. Along the way, adjustments to our planning will inevitably be possible as scientific data and health guidance dictate.
We are looking forward to working with your kids and families this summer. We already have a robust list of courses and phenomenal teachers on board and are eager for June to be here!
Hope you stay happy and healthy!

Class Spotlight: HS Credit Recovery Courses
These courses run for 3 hours each day, and once students have satisfactorily completed their credit recovery, they will be done with summer school. (They do not have to spend the whole 4 weeks in summer school...once they're done, they're done!). Because students are attempting to make up a whole semester of work, we only allow 2 days of absence from HS credit recovery classes.
If you or your child is interested in any of our High School Credit Recovery classes, please contact their High School counselor: Teri Hamilton: thamilton@wwusd.org or Pamela Sonmor-Wintz: pSonmorWintz@wwusd.org.
