Bear Bulletin
January 17, 2020
From Mrs. Spencer:
A few things:
1. Monday is a school holiday. See you on Tuesday, January 21st.
2. MTF Schedule This Week due to the 4 day week.
3. 8th Grade High School Visits: Students will visit their feeder pattern high schools (MHS or SWHS) on January 22nd. All students must have a signed permission slip on file.
4. Cafeteria Practices: Most of our Bears do this really well, but parent reminders and reinforcement sincerely help. Please remind your child to pick up all of his lunch items and dispose them in the trash. At times, the students are so distracted by visiting with their peers or getting to their next class that we find tables with several finished lunches on them ready to be thrown away. This makes more work for our custodians, who do a great job for us at SBMS. All of us can pitch in to make their work easier by picking up after ourselves.
5. Technology: Please remind your child to charge his or her chromebook and bring it to school each day. It is an instructional tool they need for class each day. Please also note that students in each of their classes have been asked to place their phones in phone holders with the teacher so that they can fully focus on the work of that period. Please do not expect your child to answer a text unless it is during a passing period. We appreciate your help on this. Many thanks to the SBMS PTA for the provision of these holders.
De la Señora Spencer
Unas pocas cosas:
1. El lunes es feriado escolar. Nos vemos el martes 21 de enero.

From the Clinic
Please protect others from illness:
If your child has a fever today. They should not be at school tomorrow. If you have to give Tylenol or Motrin for a fever today, they should stay home from school tomorrow.
If you have to give them Tylenol or Motrin in the morning before school “to get them through the day” then they should not go to school.
If your child has vomiting and /or diarrhea today. They should not be at school.
Flu season is rampant.
Please please do not send your sick, still recovering from illness, feverish child to school to infect the health students and staff.
Many thanks,
Merrie Watkins R.N.
