2nd Rotation
Library Lessons
3rd - 5th graders learned about the Dewey Decimal system and how to find books in the library. They also enjoyed the stories I Am Every Good Thing, by Derrick Barnes and The Magician's Hat, by Malcolm Mitchell. 5th graders used their computers to create a word cloud art piece which they added to their Sway project from the 1st rotation. 4th graders worked on a Getting to Know You and Me Sway project using the library computers - they had to include their favorite ice cream flavor, favorite subject in school and favorite thing to do with their free time. 3rd graders used learning.com lessons for digital literacy.
K - 2nd graders learned about behavior expectations in the library and how to properly take care of books using various Mr. Wiggle stories by Paula Craig .2nd graders used learning.com lessons for digital literacy and to practice using a mouse. 1st graders made Peppa Pig after watching a video about Peppa Pig visiting the library. K students made Mr. Wiggle. Both K and 1st graders also started along their pathway using learning.com to learn how to use a mouse and learn about the parts of a computer. Another favorite story during this rotation was Froggy Goes to the Library by Jonathan London.
Many classes also enjoyed listening to the story Dewey There's a Cat in the Library by Vicki Myron and Brett Witter.
