Extra, Extra, Read All About It !
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Time seems to continue to quickly fly by. It is hard to believe that we have already been in school for a month. Students in room 102 are as busy as ever working, learning, and growing together. Please take a minute to read this newsletter to learn about some amazing things that are happening in our classroom.

Walk-Jog-A-Thon
Students had a blast at our annual Walk-Jog-A-Thon to raise money for our school The teachers did too. Here is a picture of Mrs. Puvogel and myself during the event.
Reading Rules!
Students reading quietly. We are working on building up the number of minutes we can read quietly as a class.
Class Dojo
What is class dojo and how does it work?
Class dojo is a fantastic website that allows me to reward students for the positive choices they are making in the classroom. students can earn points in the classroom for participation, helping, a classmate, and making responsible choices among other things. For every ten points students earn on class dojo they can earn one ticket. Once students earn ten tickets they can exchange them for a token for the treasure tower in the office or a class coupon as a reward for their hard work. Notes on how to access it as a parent went home yesterday with your child. If you need another copy of how to join, please just send a note with your child and I will be sure to send them home with one.
Math and Google, Together At Last!
In math class we have been working a great deal on number sense and on place value. Students have discussed how the place a number is in gives the number its value. We will take our place value test next week either Thursday or Friday. I know if students take their time and think critically about what they are doing they will do great. The next unit we are working on is basic multiplication and division facts so it is time to break out those flashcards! If you have access to the internet at home, students can log on to our google classroom and find some resources for practice.
To log onto google classroom just search google classroom, click "join a class", and enter our class code. Our class code is n5k2pem.
