Goals of Stop TB Partnership
- For all TB patients to have access to effective diagnosis, treatment, and a cure.
- Prevent the transmission of TB.
- Reduce the amount of social and economic toll of TB
- The creation of new preventive and effective diagnostic and therapeutic tools, and new strategies to stop TB.
World TB Day
World TB Day occurs every March 24th each year and promotes public awareness about Tuberculosis, this day also reminds the world of when Dr. Robert Koch annouced that he found the cause of Tuberculosis.
According to this map the countries that have numbers labeling them accounts for 80% of cases of Tuberculosis in the world.
Stop TB Partnership Partners
Stop TB Partnership organization originated in Switzerland but has some partners in the United States such as; Charles P. Felton National Tuberculosis Center in New York, New York,
Division of Tuberculosis Elimination, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (USDHHS) in Atlanta, Georgia, and Global Alliance for TB Drug Development in New York, New York.
