"Personal Space" Video Shoot
Mr. Ktorides is pleased to announce that he has written a new song for the Stone Bank Way called Personal Space. Most students have heard the song in music class and already know the plan, but the song, which sort of has a Honky-Tonk/Country Western feel to it, has a line dance that accompanies it.
On Wednesday, March 8th from 2:30-3:30, we will film the line dance video in the gym. Although it is most suited for students in second grade and up, it is open to any student who has learned the dance and feels confident in his/her abilities. For additional practice or for those students who did not learn the dance in class, here is the link to the tutorial video. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8JeWFg9YxW-cEJLWnU2ZEQ2dUk/view?usp=sharing
I hope to see you there,

Teaching and Learning at Stone Bank
6th Grade Ancient History
The 6th graders recently participated in the Ancient Greek Olympics in social studies! Events included discus, javelin, jumping, and running. After we wrapped up our unit on Ancient Greece, we have journeyed across the Mediterranean to Ancient Rome. We’ll discuss the rise of the Roman Republic and how Rome grew into a great empire. Students are usually very excited to learn about the Colosseum and gladiatorial games.
7th Grade Geography
The 7th graders just started learning about our neighbors to the north. After learning about the physical geography of Canada, we will discuss how the U.S. and Canada share much of the same history and culture, but we have some notable differences as well.
8th Grade U.S. History
In 8th grade U.S. History, we are discussing how our country came to be the United States of America through the Revolutionary War. Students will be working on a project featuring the significant people, battles, and documents of the era. Have some fun and quiz your child about anything ranging from the Shot Heard Round the World all the way to the signing of the Treaty of Paris!
Math Counts Competition
The Stone Bank Math Counts team competed at the Regional meet on Saturday, Feb 4th. The Stone Bank team did exceptionally well. Especially Aidan Jacobsen who came in 14th place overall in the Waukesha County. Congratulations to the following students who competed and to the students who prepared for this meet for the last 3 months! Jackson Brunner, Myla Brunner(not pictured), Cole Greco, Aidan Jacobsen, Fischer Luterbach, Kevin McNeil, Jack Rankin and Olivia Smith.
Annual Stone Bank Spelling Bee
The Stone Bank Spelling Bee which was held on February 8th was a huge success with 35 participants. Congratulations all Bee participants! The Bee was very competitive with the majority of the kids spelling their words correctly for the first 4-5 rounds!! Congratulations to Ava Kuehmichel who was runner up and to Wade Lindmark who won the Bee!!
Regional Spelling Bee
The Stone Bank Spelling Bee winner, Wade Lindmark, went on to the CESA #1 Regional Spelling Bee on February 17th. Wade competed against winners from 8 other schools. The competition was significantly stiffer this year as they went off the list to have more challenging words. There was an overwhelming number of people who complimented Wade to say that he showed such character, encouragement, support of his fellow competitors and that he entertained them too. He was proud but disappointed to come in second and determined for next year! Congratulations Wade!!
Summer Opportunities Night Speakers
There was an area Arrowhead evening which showcased summer opportunities. Stone Bank students have taken advantage of some of these and they shared these experiences that evening. Thank you Olivia Smith for speaking about your Congressional Leadership Conference. In addition, thank you to Fran Smith and Ava Carfagna for speaking about your WCATY summer experience. If you would like to learn about these opportunities, please contact Mrs. Harmeyer @

Middle School Hallway American Flag
Thank you Ethan Fischer! Ethan Fischer noticed that the American Flag that hangs in the middle school hallway was tattered. On his own, he took the initiative to bring in a flag to replace the tattered one. On February 22nd, Ethan and Lucas Brown replaced the flag. Thank you Lucas for helping Ethan hang the new flag!
Thanks again guys!
