Regional Science Fair
From BGHS Science Department Chair, Mr. Kevin Banks . . .
"Ethan Smiley & Ted Hardesty competed at Marian University on Saturday, March 12, in the Regional Science Fair. They both did an excellent job in presenting their research. Ethan walked away with two awards: the Purdue Agricultural Award and second place in Biochemistry."
Richardson, Vuskalns and Weidner Sign Letters of Intent
Morgan Weidner will attend Indiana Tech in the fall and major in Accounting. She was named the soccer team's MVP and Captain for the last two years. The Indiana Tech representative said that "we have been recruiting Morgan for well over a year."
LaMonte Richardson will attend Wabash College in the fall and plans to major in Athletic Training or Pre-Law. LaMonte was characterized by BGHS' football coach, Mr. Mark Weller, as having a "quiet confidence, leading by example and letting his performance speak for him." At the conclusion of LaMonte's signing, BGHS Science Department Chair and Wabash alum, Mr. Kevin Banks, proudly sang the school's song!
Congratulations to Vilis, Morgan and LaMonte! (Pictured below)
A Championship for Katie Gearlds and Team!
Congrats to BG's own Katie Gearlds, Mark Parker, and the Marian University Knights!
The No. 9-ranked Marian University women's basketball team used its stifling defense and opportunistic offense to earn the program's first-ever NAIA Division II National Championship with a 59-48 victory over No. 3-ranked Southern Oregon University at the Tyson Events Center in Sioux City, Iowa on Tuesday, March 15.
The Knights closed the 2015-16 season with their best-ever record of 32-6.

It's Not Cool To Be Cruel!
From South Grove Buzz Club Teacher, Mrs. Stacy Johnson . . .
"On Thursday, March 10, South Grove Buzz Club students participated in the Ruth Lilly Health Education Center program It's Not Cool to be Cruel. The presenter was amazing, keeping the students engaged and providing them with a lot of important information to help them learn about skills to handle bullying, how to be a helpful bystander, and how to appreciate others' differences."
Another great success for the BGHS Drama Department!
